9/11 Memorial
September 11 is recognized by the State of Texas as a day of remembrance and commemoration for those who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The purpose of this day is to remember those who died and to honor their memory. On September 11 of each year, public schools will observe one minute of silence at the beginning of the first class period of the day. Before the one minute of silence, the class instructor will make an age appropriate statement of reference to the memory of those who died on September 11, 2001. This statement should take no more than a few minutes. Since 9/11 falls on a Saturday this year, feel free to hold the short recognition on Friday, September 10
