Texas Home Learning - Secondary Math Pilot
TEA has given districts the opportunity to pilot the Texas Home Learning (THL) resources with direct coaching and support from TEA and THL resource providers.
Secondary math reached out to campus teams to determine if any grade level teams would be interested in participating in the pilot. We are excited to let you know that these three teams have indicated their interest:
BHS - Geometry
HMS - 8th Grade Math
KMS - 6th Grade Math
Important details about the pilot program:
Teachers volunteered to be part of the program.
Teams will receive coaching from TEA and Carnegie Learning, the THL provider.
Teams will use the pilot resources for one unit in the spring (chosen for alignment with the current Scope & Sequence documents).
Teachers can earn a $500 stipend for full participation in the pilot program.
BISD will continue to have free access to the Carnegie Learning resources in the 21-22 school year and will have additional training available from TEA should BISD choose to continue to utilize those resources.
Teachers will soon have full access to the Carnegie Learning secondary math resources for supplemental use, whether or not they are participating in the pilot program through TEA.
We are currently in the process of applying for the pilot and will have more information to share if we are accepted into the program. If you have any questions regarding the pilot, you can find more information at https://texashomelearning.org/crimsi.
