Secondary PD Plan 23-24

Coordinators will be sending the professional development plan to core and LOTE teachers on Friday, August 17 through Schoology. Here is the text of the message, along with the PD Menu so you will be aware of the plans.

Teachers - 

The secondary learning team is excited to support your professional learning this year through multiple avenues. We enjoyed the PD sessions many of you attended this summer on June 1 and July 31. The Professional Development plan is summarized in the menu below. 

For those of you who still need earned-off hours or your 6-hour GT update, we are offering six book studies this year. The book studies in the menu are linked to a Strive course, and the description in Strive has the Schoology Access Code to join the course. You'll read the book, reflect on your learning in Schoology, and attend a book discussion at the end of the course. All of this time must be outside your contract day. 

To support your unit and lesson internalization process, the curriculum coordinators & ESL specialist will be hosting virtual office hours each week from 4-5 pm. These are drop-by events when you want a thinking partner to strategize with you as you plan instruction. Please see the menu for the day of the week for each subject. Finally, on the three district PD days you will be selecting a topic you want to explore in depth this school year. The topics are listed in the menu and sessions are first come, first served. Please fill out the form linked in the menu to select your topic by August 31.
