To ensure compliance with Burleson ISD grading guidelines, the following guidance outlines new procedures for students to improve their score on district assessments. If a student scores below a 70% on a summative assessment, grading guidelines state that the student is offered the opportunity to retest for up to a 70% on the assessment.
To assist teachers with facilitating this opportunity, a RETEST version of the assessment will be pushed to courses. This version will include the same questions as the original assessment, but in a randomized order. Teachers have the option to assign the district-provided retest or create their own. To ensure integrity of the retest, the view submissions feature on all assessments will be turned off.
For clarification, the three district assessment versions are:
Standard form (time limit)
Standard form A (no time limit)
RETEST (no time limit and randomized question order)
If you have any questions regarding the grading guidelines and expectations for students on summative assessments, please reach out to your campus administration.
