2023 District Writing Benchmark - February 1, 2023.

The following link to take you to a folder with the prompts, passages, and rubrics for the 2023 Writing Benchmark. Under the new test design, students are writing about something they have read on the test. Students may read and annotate the passage prior to the benchmark day; however, do not give out the prompt until the day of the benchmark. The benchmark requirement is for the ESSAY only. Students will not be asked to answer questions related to the passage.

This writing should be done in class, timed (1-2 hours max), and doesn't need to be a full shutdown. Reminder, students should be working independently and should not be guided.

Data (overall scores) should be entered in Edugence by Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

6th Grade: 10824

7th Grade: 10825

8th Grade: 10826

English I: 10827

English II: 10828
