College Board is offering two adjustments to AP testing for the spring semester due to Covid (with further details coming in February):
An updated testing schedule with two contingency testing dates for each subject—one in the second half of May and one in the first half of June—will support schools that want more instructional time before testing. Exams on the contingency dates will also be full length, covering the full scope of course content.
Full-length digital contingency exams can be taken at home, if authorized by the AP coordinator, in the event that a school is closed or coronavirus-related risks prevent a student from testing at a school.
Currently, AP exams are scheduled the weeks of May 3 and May 10. If we delay exams until the second half of May, that could interfere with the end of the school year. Delaying until June will most likely impact the number of students who chose to come back to school to take the exam.
Online AP exams were very challenging for students last year, and we would like to minimize the number of students testing online to those who are virtual during the last six weeks and do not feel comfortable entering the building or are in quarantine.
In the form below, please give us your feedback on these upcoming changes. Once we hear from you and receive the details from College Board, we will make a decision.
