Ms. McMichael

Welcome to 5th grade

Let me introduce myself! I am Ms. McMichael, and this will be my fifth year teaching fifth grade. I will be teaching math and science. Science is my absolute favorite subject that I get to teach. I have taught for the last 14 years here at Mound Elementary. In that time I have been in 3rd, 4th and now 5th grade. Before that, I was an educational interpreter for the Deaf.

I have two daughters, and two fur babies. Daphne is 22, she is a Starbucks Barista! Natalie is 18 and she will be attending Hill College this fall. I have a dog and a cat. Boy, do they make my apartment very HAIRY!!!

This is going to be a great year filled with challenges and lots of successes! We will set personal, class, and campus wide goals. Be thinking about what you want to be when you grow up, because we will be talking about that the first couple of days of school. Also, think about where you might like to go to college! Also, the theme for our fifth grade hallway will be superheroes!!!! DC and Marvel will both be represented. We will have a project the first week of school to go along with that theme...don't worry, it will be fun!!! You will quickly see that I love to laugh, and have fun. We can do that as we learn. I can not wait to start this adventure with you all.

READY...SET...HERE WE GO!

Daphne, Natalie, and me on Sanibel Island, Florida this summer! This is one of my favorite places to be.

My fur-babies. Daisy is the German Shepherd. Tonks is the tuxedo cat.

Family is very important to me! I am fortunate to be close to my parents, my siblings and their families. When we all get together, there is always a ton of laughing.
