Burleson ISD uses Zoom for it's video conferencing needs. The district creates accounts for all teachers and students allowing for Zoom to be integrated within Schoology.
This integration enables teachers to schedule meetings from within Schoology and enables students to access video conferences from within each course, streamlining the workflow for users.
In order for students to access Zoom meetings within Schoology, teachers have to add the Zoom LTI to their Schoology courses.
TIP:
Name the Zoom LTI so that students easily recognize how to access Zoom Meetings.
GUIDE: Add Zoom LTI
VIDEO: Add Zoom LTI
Zoom can be accessed by teachers and students two ways.
Through Clever
(www.burlesonisd.net > Staff Portal > Clever > Zoom)
Through Schoology
Students should access all Zoom meetings through Schoology.
Most Zoom settings are controlled at a district level, however there are settings that teachers can adjust to ensure student video conferences are seamless and well managed.
Once the Zoom LTI has been added to a course, teachers can schedule Zoom video conferences from within Schoology.
TIPS:
If a class meets at the same time each day, mark the meeting as recurring so that students join the same meeting each day.
Use the district naming convention when generating meetings. Name, School, Period, Course Name, Date
(CHS 2nd Period Math 8/31/20)
GUIDES:
Two Courses One Zoom - In the event you have one class period where students appear as separate sections (courses) in Schoology and you wish to have all sections join one Zoom Conference.
When scheduling a meeting, teachers should always select to Record Meetings automatically In the Cloud. At the end of the meeting, Students will automatically have access to the recording in Zoom.
*Due to copyright of lesson materials, Dyslexia teachers should not create recordings of lessons.

For added security, students will be required to log into Zoom before joining a video conference. On student Chromebooks, the chrome browser will open Tab #1 Zoom login, Tab #2 Schoology, Tab #3 Clever when launched.
Devices will remember their password after logging in the first time, so students only do this once.
Tab #1 in the Chrome browser will not show upcoming Zoom conferences that have been scheduled. Students will need to log into Schoology to view and access Zoom meetings.
Troubleshooting:
If a student receives the message, "Zoom is for internal use only" the students needs to authenticate (login) to Zoom.
