Many teachers feel intimidated when they think about teaching kids to code. There are great coding sites and offline activities that guide kids through the process of coding. Some of the most successful lessons are when you give kids the resources with no instructions, just an end product they need to arrive at and let them go. Have them teach you when they figure it out!
When students code they:
Learn sequencing skills
Counting
Problem Solving
Logical Thinking
Cause and Effect
Critical Thinking
Coding helps students become better thinkers. The beautiful thing about teaching kids to code is, they often don't feel like they are learning. Most kids feel like they are playing a game!
The non-technology approach to coding.
