Optional Insurance for Take Home Devices

Students, and their families, will be responsible for repairs and/or replacement costs of damaged or lost devices just as students are responsible for damage to textbooks and other learning tools. Fines will be assessed through Family Access.

Worth Ave. Group offers insurance coverage for BISD Chromebooks taken home by students. This is optional insurance coverage from Worth Ave Group and coordinated by the school district.

You can enroll your BISD Chromebook in the optional insurance program through the enrollment form link in Family Access. The enrollment window for all students opens on August 28, 2019 and ends on September 30th, 2019.

Read the Worth Ave Group Educational Personal Property Policy so you are aware of what is covered by this policy. For example, theft of a device is covered but misplacing a device is not covered.

Students with damaged or broken Chromebooks should bring their devices to their building tech support person or school Library. Students will be issued a loaner device.

Students with lost or stolen Chromebooks should report this to the school right away and contact the police for a police report. Students will be issued a loaner during the investigation.
