FAQs

FAQs - Schools/ Participants

Who is Professional Services Week for?

Generally aimed at secondary school children across the West Midlands, years 8 - 13. That said, we have also worked with college students, NEET groups, high risk groups at university. Please contact us if you would like to explore the opportunity to take part.

How much does it cost to take part?

The advertised activities are free for all secondary schools registering to take part.

Is there any help available for transport costs?

We are exploring assistance through local authorities at present. At the moment, the answer is no, but watch this space!

Can we take part in more than one activity?

We work hard to guarantee every school at least one activity and meet all the school's requests for Birmingham based activities, but there maybe a waiting list for additional requests. In Solihull and Coventry, there is a limit of one activity at this time.

Can we go to an activity out of area?

Absolutely! If your school is prepared to take students to experience the opportunities in another part of the region, you will be met with open arms.

Do you provide risk assessments?

Yes; we know that you need these as a minimum to take part in any trip so we will work with you to ensure that you have the information that you need. In return, you will likely be asked for copies of your public liability insurance and visitor names for security. In some cases where your business host has offered to provide catering, dietary requirements will also be necessary.

Will photographs be taken?

Yes...but only with your permission. It is important that your supervisory staff understand the photo consent status of each participating student and inform the host employer accordingly.
