We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, founded in 2006, that empowers people to seek nature-inspired solutions for a healthy planet. We have three programmatic pillars:
Entrepreneurship - In addition to the Ray of Hope Prize, we run an early stage incubator called the Biomimicry Launchpad for individuals and teams interested in pursuing a nature-inspired startup.
Science Communication - We run the Ask Nature website, a free online tool and publication that contains thousands of biological strategies and biomimicry innovations. We also work with high profile journalists and media outlets to advance the field of biomimicry.
Education - We run the Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge to support project-based education solutions to social and environmental challenges, and work with local, state, and federal government to bring biomimicry into the classroom.
