2. Get Connected - All students, faculty and staff will want to follow these steps to join eduroam properly.
  1. Choose welcome2bing in the list of available wireless networks and connect.
  2. After choosing welcome2bing, choose “CLICK HERE TO USE JOIN NOW” then follow prompts.
  3. If a window does not automatically open, manually launch the website - wireless.binghamton.edu and “CLICK HERE TO USE THE JOIN NOW TOOL” to configure your device.

Guests should use welcome2bing for Wi-Fi access, input their email and click submit. This will give your guest a 4 hour Wi-Fi connection.

TO CONNECT TO GAMING DEVICES:

1. Log onto MyDevices using your PODs credentials to register your device.

2. Connect your device to mydevicesbing.

If you think you are not connected properly, or need help, first go to: https://wireless.binghamton.edu or https://Binghamton.edu/ITS, then ask your ResCon or contact the Help Desk.

3. Print@Binghamton - Printing from a lab or classroom from your computer. THINK BEFORE YOU PRINT. Labs and classroom computers are configured to print directly to the Print@Binghamton printing system at https://print.bighamton.edu:9192.

Here is how you print:

  1. Go to the most convenient printer and wave your ID card over the black ID card reader.
  2. Select the print job(s) you want to release.
  3. Click PRINT.

PRINTING FROM YOUR PERSONAL DEVICE

Email to print:

  1. Attach the file (pdf, bmp, gif, jpg, png, tif) you want to print and email print@binghamton.edu.
  2. Go to the most convenient printer and wave your ID card over the black ID card reader.
  3. Any print jobs in your queue are released, printed and ready to collect from the printer.

Web print:

  1. Log into print@binghamton with your computer account/PODs credentials.
  2. Select WEB PRINT and upload the files (pdf, bmp, gif, jpg, png, tif) you want to print.
  3. Go to a student printer and wave your ID card over the black ID card reader.

4. Phishing Avoidance: By now all should be aware of Phishing - and how to avoid it. Go to binghamton.edu/its/phishing for more information.

WHAT DO I DO IF I’VE BEEN PHISHED?

  1. Visit the ITS website for online help.
  2. Ask your ResCon.
  3. Call and/or visit the Help Desk in the Technology Hub.
  4. Visit or contact the Help Desk in the Info Commons.
  5. Search the ITS Self Help pages, A-Z directory and database via the ITS page.

9 WAYS TO AVOID PHISHING SCAMS

  1. THINK before you click.
  2. Install an anti-phishing toolbar.
  3. Verify a site’s security by making sure its URL begins with “https” & you should see a lock icon.
  4. Keep browsers & apps up to date.
  5. Use firewalls & antivirus software.
  6. NEVER give out personal information.
  7. Be wary of pop-ups.
  8. Use 2 STEP verification.
  9. Check the ITS Phishing page and Phishing Tank (lists the most recent scams) regularly.
  10. ALWAYS - report any issues or phishy emails to security@binghamton.edu.
