TILT

TILT, which stands for Teachers Integrating and Learning Technology, is a highly successful staff development program developed by Desiree Caskey. Teachers who are accepted into this rigorous 3-year program learn through the phases below with fellow growth-minded colleagues.

TILT Programs 2019-2020

Phase 1 is one year. It's an exploration of tools and pedagogy in a safe, fun, collaborative environment.

Teachers complete several hands-on projects, improve their technology skills in a variety of areas, and become proficient in accessing and using the Google Suite for Education, iPads, and the Mac OS. Throughout teachers created a digital portfolio to enhance the practice of reflective thinking.

Phase 2 is also one year and continues exploration, but the focus turns toward enhancing the content in curriculum.

Phase 2 teachers focus on creating a classroom environment in which technology is seamlessly integrated with purpose and to support curricular content. Teachers create at least one redefining student creation project to showcase their own and their student reflective practice.

Phase 3 is also one year and emphasizes professional growth through the planning and delivering of professional development opportunities for colleagues.

Teachers emerge as mentors, assisting other teachers to improve pedagogy, both with and without technology. After completion of all three phases they are eligible to be about the leadership team.
