What is Skills USA?

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. SkillsUSA serves more than 335,000 students and instructors annually. This includes 19,500 instructors who join as professional members. Including alumni, SkillsUSA membership totals over 395,000. SkillsUSA has served more than 12.5 million annual members cumulatively since 1965.

Mission Statement:

SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA improves the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of Framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics.

Skills USA and Big Foot High School

Big Foot High School officially started a Skills USA Chapter in the fall of 2017. The organization participates in a wide variety of activities that include; Social activity planning, Fundraising, Community Service, Public Relations, Professional Development, Employment exploration and the Skills USA State Championships where our students compete each spring against the other Skills USA students in Wisconsin for a chance to compete at the National level against the Skills USA students of the country.

How to join Skills USA

1. You must be a student at Big Foot High School

2. To compete you must be enrolled or have taken a Career and Tech Ed course in the area you wish to compete

3. Have a good attitude and be ready to have a lot of fun!

4. Pay an annual membership due of $13
