K-8 Instructor
Kim started her education career volunteering in her children’s classroom. She quickly realized that being a teacher was ‘never a dull moment’ and knew that being an educator would be a rewarding and exciting career. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in K-8 Elementary Education and began teaching as a tutor for bilingual students. Kim has taught in CA, HI and now South Dakota. In 2002 she earned her Master’s Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and K-12 math specialist endorsement from Black Hills State University. From 2002 to 2009 Kim worked with the Rapid City Area schools both as a classroom teacher and math coach. She joined the Technology and Innovation in Education staff in 2009. She is currently a math coach/facilitator, supports computer science in South Dakota and is a grades 6-8 math facilitator for BHOLC.
Kim believes that we should never stop learning! Biking and camping, are a couple favorite activities. The absolute best activity is time with her family, especially the grandkids.
