library resources

Our District 228 libraries offer various print and non print resources, makerspaces, educational technology, and a comfortable space to relax, collaborate, and study. As the spaces continue to grow and change, please see the Media Specialists to request any resources. The Media Specialists are teacher/librarians who often co-teach in the classroom and help design technology infused lessons. The students of District 228 each have an iPad to use in class daily. Media Specialists and student tech team members are available to assist students and staff with any iPad issues.

The libraries in our district are continually evolving to create a dynamic and student-centered learning space. With all of our student population using iPads in the schools, we are here to assist with iPad instruction and make curriculum connections. The librarians are innovators, infusing technology into lessons and teaching inquiry methods, to meet the demands of 21st Century teaching and learning.

Library Mission Statement

The primary responsibility of the libraries in Bremen Community High School District 228 is to provide maximum access to resources which foster the intellectual and cultural development of the individual and which support the curriculum.

As librarians, we will teach all students to inquire about the world around them in a thoughtful and critical way. We will provide leadership, instruction and expertise for students and staff that encourages the use of information and technology in a creative and responsible manner. We seek to ignite students to become life-long learners. In this process, we will ensure that students are effective users and producers of ideas and information.
