Using Clever at Home

What is Clever?

Clever is a single sign-on location that schools can use to provide students access to many tools they offer, such as i-Ready and Big Ideas Math. Rather than needing usernames and passwords for all these different tools, students can go to Clever, sign in, and then access these other tools.

How your child logs in to Clever

Students should go to Clever's website. Once there, students should choose the option to Log in as a student and then Log in with Google. From there, students will be able to choose from several Clever apps, including i-Ready, Big Ideas Math, TCI, and Scholastic.

Every student's Google login is:

their first name initial + their last name + their high school graduation year + @bhpsnj.org.

For example, Neil Armstrong, class of 2023, would be narmstrong23@bhpsnj.org.

Every student's password is their six digit lunch code + Bh. For example, 012345Bh.

Clever Badges for Kindergarteners

Kindergarten students have Clever badges, which are labeled on one side and contain a unique QR code for that student on the other side. It's very important that students only use the Clever badge with their name on it.

To use the Clever badge, students can go to the Clever student log in, but then click on the Clever Badge log in. Then, they will use their device's camera to scan the QR code. The first time doing this, the device may ask for permission to use the camera.

Accessing Apps in Clever

Once a student signs into Clever, they will see their favorite resources at the top. You may need to scroll down to see the More Apps section, which contains all available resources.
