SherrieAnn Chapman Erickson is a South Jersey native, born in Stratford and raised in Waterford. She attended the Waterford Township public schools for her early education and graduated with honors in the top 10% of the Edgewood Regional High School class of 1992.
She went on to graduate with honors from Rutgers University in 1998, with a BA in English and a minor in Women's Studies. After graduation, she embarked on a career in publishing. Mrs. Erickson worked for Elsevier, Inc., an international publishing company, where (as Production Editor/Manager) she oversaw the production of a number of medical journals from manuscript stage to publication.
In September 2003, she left Elsevier to return to Rutgers, where she entered the Teacher Preparation Program. In January 2005, Mrs. Erickson joined the staff of Triton Regional High School as a high school Language Arts teacher.
As a staff member at Triton, she also serves as the ELA BSIP coordinator, co-advisor for the Class of 2029, advisor for the National English Honor Society, Drama Coordinator for the One Act Play festival and the Spring Musical, co-advisor for the annual talent show, co-advisor for the Bible Study Club, and a Lit Cafe tutor. Since joining the Triton family in 2005, Mrs. Erickson has had the opportunity and privilege of speaking at the annual conference for the National Council of Teachers of English in Washington, D.C. (2014), Atlanta, GA (2016), and Baltimore, MD (2019).
Mrs. Erickson currently resides in Cedar Brook, N.J. with her husband, John. She is a master's student at Rowan University, as well as a mother to Annika, a Biological Sciences major in her senior year of studies at Rowan University, and Finn, a sheet metal fabricator and welder for Southern NJ Steel Company. In her spare time, she is a grandmom or Sher-Sher to Joey, Johnathan, and JoAnna, as well as a lector and eucharistic minister at Christ the Redeemer Parish.
