About Mr. Wehr
Hello, parents and students! My name is Ryan Wehr and I’m a special education teacher at Brandywine Heights High School. The 2023-2024 school year is my 14th year in the special education department at BHHS. I spend a large portion of my day supporting students individually and in small groups in co-taught classes to assist them in achieving success in their studies. Additionally, I am highly-qualified in both secondary mathematics and secondary English and have taught and/or co-taught Science in the Community, Career & Financial Planning, Freshman Seminar, Social Skills, Math 11, Math 12, Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Read 180, English 9, English 10, English 11, and English 12 during my time at Brandywine Heights.
I am a 2003 graduate of Parkland High School. I went on to achieve my Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from Penn State University. I continued my education at Lehigh University in Bethlehem where I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education. While at Lehigh, I spent a year as a Teacher Associate at Lehigh’s Centennial School, which serves special education students with emotional disturbance and/or Autism.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending a great deal of time with my wife, our 2 children, and our 2 dogs. I currently coach high school basketball in the Lehigh Valley after serving as the BHHS varsity boys' coach for 8 seasons. I also previously served as the co-head coach of the BHHS varsity golf team for 3 seasons as well. I am also a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, an avid Penn State football fan, and enjoy rooting on both the Nittany Lions and North Carolina Tar Heels during the college basketball season.
