Hello! I’m Mrs. Levengood! I am the Explore and Gifted teacher at Brandywine Heights Elementary School. Explore is an encore class that focuses on STEM education in the elementary school. In this class we do hands on challenges that relate to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It is taught through the 4 C’s approach where students work together in small groups to solve the problem or challenge using collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. It is a class where students are encouraged to learn by doing and having fun!
A little about me, I am a 2006 Brandywine Heights graduate. To pursue my passion to teach, I attended Bloomsburg University. I graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2010 with a dual degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (N-12). I am also highly certified in Middle School Language Arts(7-9). I received my Masters in Education with a concentration in Differentiated Instruction. I also received my second Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to that, I received my K-12 Principal and Supervisory Certificate at Kutztown University. During my time at Brandywine and Bloomsburg, I played field hockey. Playing sports, spending time with my husband, two sons, daughter, being with friends and family, and being outside are some of the things I like to do in my free time. Below is a picture of my family. My little peanut, Cameron Ryan, my little princess, Skylar Lyndsay, and then the baby of the family, Remington Jayce.
Not only do I teach in the district, but I also am a community member! In addition to being a teacher, I am also a board member for the Brandywine Heights Education Foundation, the Topton Soccer Club, and NNSTOY (National Network State Teacher of the Year.
