Hello! I am Christa Heagerty. I have been a science teacher at Brandywine Heights High School in Mertztown since January 2008.

Before teaching, I worked with the Chester County Health department monitoring environmental conditions and with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in their infectious disease department. In the summer of 2022, I worked with Berks Nature in Reading as a teacher with their Eco-Camp. Every year, I grade AP exams for College Board. Some non-related jobs I have had in the past that definitely play a role in who I am: book store employee and day care teacher (1 - 3 year olds).
I grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania, a fairly urbanized borough in Montgomery County. I am the youngest of nine and have 15 nieces and nephews (I call them my niblings), 13 great-niblings, and 2 great-great nephews. My only daughter has one daughter of her own who is starting Kindergarten this year. She calls me Gamma because Gamma Rays are the most powerful form of radiation, and I am a science nerd.
