The EDHD Technology & Resource Center is located in 215 Education Building at Bowling Green State University. We offer a poster printing service for BGSU faculty and students. Use the link below for hours and additional office info.
We support many file formats, including Adobe PDF, Photoshop, JPEG, TIFF, AutoCAD, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. The printer uses a 36 inch roll of paper that is up to 300 feet long. One dimension of your print should be 36 inches, but the other dimension can vary. Common poster sizes are 24" X 36" and 36" X 48". The machine can trim one dimension to size but staff will not help you trim the other dimension.
PLEASE ALLOW ONE FULL WORKING DAY FOR PRINTS TO BE COMPLETED.
Print files can be delivered in person to 215 Education during office hours using a flash drive or a lab computer to access a cloud based service (OneDive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc.). Files can also be sent by attachment or link to our office email account: firstname.lastname@example.org. Staff will process the print job and contact you when it is ready for pickup. BGSU email only allows file attachments less than 20MB. It is common for faculty and students to upload the file to OneDrive, share the link, and send it to our office email account. (Note: The office email account is not monitored when the lab is closed, this includes holidays and breaks.)

The PowerPoint templates below use print dimensions that are commonly printed with our poster printer. Delete the slide content and add your own text, graphics, and design. The layout can be adjusted to match your needs but do not change the slide dimensions or orientation.
A common issue with large posters is the use of low resolution images. You must use the highest resolution possible. Low res images will look good on screen or maybe when printed at 8.5"X11" but when they are printed at 36"X48" they will look terrible. So, no extreme cropping of high resolution images, screen captures or swiping images from web pages. They just will not work. Also, be sure to do color and white balancing on photos. See the images of the man in the templates above. The three poses of him are all in the same room with photos that contain different color and white balance settings. If your photos look a little dark or out of focus on screen, they will be much worse when printed at poster size.
