silent woods

like humans, they are most dangerous when silent.
the buzzing recedes and you think you’ve reached healing,
you think you’ve reached land and drowning is no longer a threat.
you’ve thought wrong. silent woods are where children go missing.
silent waters are where sharks find their prey.
but most importantly,
silent minds are where hopes grow too high,
only to make the fall more deadly.
