Bellwork-  On a map, paths from Brad’s house, his school, and the library form a triangle. Brad knows his house is 2 miles from his school. He also knows his house is 1.5 miles from the library. How far apart are the school and library?

Direct Instruction- use visual models with to compare segments and demonstrate concepts, students will do an activity using the vertical whiteboards
