Ceramic Bown & Totem Spoon Project
Through this lesson, students were introduced to both ceramic hand building and wheel throwing to create their own self reflective bowl and spoon set. By choosing symbols for themselves, sketching up designs, sculpting, building, and glazing students created one of a kind sets!

Students first explored symbols to represent themselves, then created rough sketches for final outcome planning.

Then students dove in working with clay. Hand building the spoons and throwing their bowls on the wheels.

Before the bisque firing (first firing) the students added underglaze for color, and then after they added gloss glaze for a shiny finish.
