OBOB 2026/2027

What is IT?

All students in 3rd-8th grade are invited to participate in OBOB, a statewide reading program. OBOB’s mission is to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, to broaden reading interests, to increase reading comprehension, promote academic excellence, and to promote cooperative learning and teamwork among students. Students are exposed to books representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints. 

Our goal is to make the Beverly Cleary School OBOB battles a fun, positive experience for all participating students!

How DO I REGISTER?

Your student may register as an individual and indicate any teammate preferences on the form.

What DO I READ?

To get started reading, book lists are posted here. 

WhERE DO I GET THE BOOKs?

• Several copies of each title are also available in the BCS library.

• BCS is partnered with Children's Place Bookshop -- Books may be ordered through this link.  -- Please be sure to mention Beverly Cleary when checking out. 10% of sales will be put back towards the school.

HOW DO I LEARN MORE?

There are guides for students and coaches in the left navigation menu.  The OBOB planning committee will also be seeking volunteers to host the school tournament.
