In 6th grade, you will use CodeMonkey.com to learn how to program your own game in CoffeeScript (which is like JavaScript). You will also learn other important coding concepts by completing the following courses on CodeMonkey: Space Adventure, Platformer, Frogger, Moon Lander and Sprite Animations. Later, you will solve programming challenges using Python in the Banana Tales course. Log into https://www.codemonkey.com everyday and complete the assigned exercises that are unlocked.
You can always email me if you are working at home and get stuck at rickd@bethel.k12.ct.us. Also, there are instructional videos posted on Google Classroom under the Classwork tab to help with some of the challenging exercises so check there often.
This is a robotics class! While working with a partner, you will learn how to control the EV3 robot's movements through a mix of guided instruction and practice. You will also learn how to use the EV3's sensors and create programs that use if/else statements, numeric loops and while loop to complete programming challenges. There are many robot challenges ready for you to tackle!
