What is #BHSreads?

As a part of Bethel High School's ongoing encouragement of lifelong readers, students will select at least one title to read over the summer and participate in collaborative discussion groups at the beginning of the new school year.

Students will choose to read one of the 10 books selected as #BHSreads2017 titles by a committee of faculty and students OR incoming 10th-12th grade students may alternatively opt to participate in a "Faculty Choice" discussion group (students must sign up with the individual teacher ahead of the #BHSreads2017 event to participate in a Faculty Choice group). If an incoming 9th grade student is particularly interested in a Faculty Choice title, please feel free to contact the sponsoring teacher directly and/or a faculty member of the #BHSreads2017 committee (Ms. Troetti, Ms. Wismar, and Mr. Sarrazin).

During the first weeks of school, discussion groups will be formed for each title. These discussion groups will be led by faculty and students. Remember to take notes on your novel over the summer so that you can participate in a discussion group led by faculty and student leaders during the first days of school.

*Please note that students enrolled in honors and AP courses for the 2017-18 school year will have additional/alternate required reading and associated assignments to complete. Please see our webpage on Honors/AP Summer Reading for more information.
