Lilo Maclachlan is Head of Chemistry and Head of the English Medium High School at Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg. With HyAcademy researcher Shakil Giordani, they discussed the importance of collaborative teaching, the outlook on hydrogen in South Africa and the work Lilo has done with the Siemens Stiftung, who she worked with to deliver some amazing STEM workshops.
Yasmin Ali is the Team Lead of the Battery Energy Management System (EMS) Development at RWE. With HyAcademy Technical Lead Aaron Lad, they discussed Yasmin's career progression and how she came to work for RWE on sustainable energy projects in the hydrogen and battery teams. They also discussed the importance of hydrogen education and the variety of career roles in the area, as well as Yasmin’s book, Power Up.
