Project Citizen proved that everyone has a say in the government and anyone can make a difference in policies. I also learned that going through the government is not the only way to create change, we can create change through our communities. A simple email or board meeting can change an entire communities opinion. This project inspired me to become a more proactive citizen and be more involved in my community. Since this project could be so time- consuming, I learned how to manage my time a lot better. Project citizen has taught me so many skills that I can bring with me through college and life in general. I decided to join the education inequity group because I feel that since I have received such a great education here at Ridge High School, it is my duty to try and come up with a solution for people to receive the same level of education as I do. I care about this topic because I have experienced the privilege of education, and I believe that everyone deserves a great education that will bring them opportunities.
