A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR...

Dear Friends, Family, Staff, and Community Members, of the Ridge High School Concert Choir,

It has been a tradition at Ridge to have a spring show that includes music that is slightly different from traditional choral repertoire. This show has had many names... Cabaret, Disney, Music of the Movies, and back again, Decades!

This year, there were some changes to the format of how we do the solos and small groups. Rather than having auditions and picking the "best" acts, all students who were interested in doing a solo or small group were encouraged to participate. This allowed students of all different abilities to receive coaching, and therefore, grow exponentially over the past few weeks. Each act was asked to cut their song a little bit, so that we can fit in any and everyone without having the evening go too long. It's been a pleasure to see them grow.

First, I must thank our collaborative pianist, James Lubrano, for all of his hard work. He did much of the coaching for the solos and small acts and helped to use our time efficiently so that I could be leading rehearsal in the choir room while he worked with an act in the practice room at the same time. His expertise has been invaluable.

The other person who has been an integral part of this production is our PAC Manager, Colin Berry. Not only has he brought together a wonderful team of students who are helping to do lighting and sound in the booth and working backstage to have things run smoothly, but he also has spent endless hours making the show look and sound professional

Every year, this production is student-run through and through. Students help to choose the combined choir numbers, pick their own small groups, create the choreography, pick out and create the visual theme, and so much more. So, lastly, thank you to the singers, especially any student’s name you see in this program who did something extra. So many students put in extra time and effort behind the scenes to bring this together. Please click on the “Student Leadership” tab to see just how many students helped to make this happen. Congratulations to all involved. I couldn’t be prouder!

Thank you for being with us tonight and for your ongoing support. Enjoy the show!

With great respect and appreciation,

~Mrs. Beadle~
