As you step into her office, the soothing smell of essential oils and peppermints surrounds you. She welcomes you with open arms, ready to support you through any tough times. Although it is her first year at Berkeley, Ms. Wenzel has already found a special place in all of our hearts.
Ms. Wenzel is Berkeley’s personal counselor. Originally from Wisconsin, she lived in Chicago for eight years before moving to Tampa. Wanting to find a school similar to the one she previously worked at, Ms. Wenzel found Berkeley's wonderful environment and decided to come to us!
During her first day at Berkeley, Ms. Wenzel was amazed by the empathetic, convivial, and energetic atmosphere of all her coworkers. “Everyone was kind and so eager to help,” says Ms. Wenzel. “When you start a new job or you're at a new school, it can feel really overwhelming and sometimes scary. But I didn't feel that way when I started here, because everyone is so supportive and friendly.”
Ms. Wenzel enjoys meeting and talking to all the students every day. “I love meeting and getting to know all of you, and I really enjoy all the people I get to work with,” says Ms. Wenzel. “I love talking with students and it makes my day when I see all your faces and you stop by to say hello!”
Currently, Ms. Wenzel lives in Tampa and has a dog named Walter, an Australian shepherd golden retriever mix. Her favorite book is the Great Gatsby because it is a classic and takes place in the 1920s, her favorite era.
