Craft Club was founded on September 15, 2025 by Sarah K. ‘32, Kaya P. ‘32, Harper B. ‘32, and Claire A. ‘32. It is a combination of Craft Club and Canva Club. Craft club was made by the four students in sixth grade, and Canva Club was created by Ms. Rivera. They decided to combine the two clubs into the Creative Club.
The students created this club as a way to destress and express themselves. It is a way to have fun with their friends. “I love this club!” comments Reid N. ‘30. “This club is a great way to hang out with your friends and calm down,” says Kaya P. ‘32. “It’s so fun doing crafts and getting to know people who weren’t here last year!” exclaims Piper D. ‘32. They make paper snowflakes, pipecleaner flowers, and more interesting crafts!
The club sponsors, Ms. Dutton and Ms. Rivera, enjoy fueling everyone’s creativity. “Craft Club was the students’ idea, and Ms. Rivera approached me with the idea of Canva Club,” explained Ms. Dutton. “Seeing the kids make things is always fun,” says Ms. Rivera.
Most of the people in this club say they will come back every week. The people who attend are very social, and they spread positivity throughout Berkeley. Creative Club makes a positive impact on the community, and the people who come too!
