7th Savannah Trip

A group of 7th graders went to Savannah, Georgia. The trip was from February 13-15, on Friday the 13th! Since it was Friday the 13th, of course, the teachers planned something special for the students. The students got to do an amazing ghost tour around the city. I was very shocked to learn about all the haunted sites and the town's history. After interviewing four students who went on the trip, the majority said that the museums and walking tours were the best part of the trip! I also learned that you should bring extra money, because there are a lot of candy shops that make you want to go bankrupt.

On the second day of the trip, it was Valentine's Day! The kids celebrated it by wearing pink or red clothes and buying gifts for their friends. The students started the day with an amazing breakfast at the hotel, then went to a Marine Science center. There, we took a walk along the beach and learned about the different forms of life in the rocks and sand. Of course, we had to take some seashells along the way! After that, students went on a boat ride around a harbour, where they also ate their lunch. On the last day of the trip, students got to experience the historic elements in Savannah. We went to Fort Jackson, and there the guides got to teach us how to prepare a musket. They gave us the true 19th-century naval experience! We also got to witness a canon being fired!

Students are organized into groups of three for each hotel room. Additionally, each chaperone has a walking group that they are in charge of. Don’t worry, no one got lost! A special thank you to all of the chaperones who went on the trip! They made sure everyone was safe and had fun! Additionally, a thank you to the hotel staff for taking care of 51 crazy kids. All interviewed kids said they would recommend going to Savannah, Georgia, to have an amazing time!
