Good choice! Combine these pure, product-containing fractions and evaporate the solvent.

The video shows a green plastic ice bucket with a thick plastic tube emerging from it and extending down onto the lab bench. The end of the plastic tube is fitted with a glass three-way valve with shorter lengths of plastic tubing attached to the other two arms of the valve as well. Also visible is a filter flask, two one dram vials, and a rubber stopper. A gloved hand lifts the first one dram vial, revealing that it contains a small portion of clear liquid and has been labeled “1.” This liquid is poured into the filter flask. Next the second one dram vial is lifted, revealing that it also contains a small portion of clear liquid, but has been labeled “2.” This liquid is also poured into the filter flask. The rubber stopper is used to cap the flask, and the side of the flask is then fitted into the one of the shorter pieces of tubing coming off of the three-way valve. The valve is rotated until the contents of the filter flask are under vacuum. We see a close up view of the small amount of clear liquid at the bottom of the flask. The flask is lifted off of the lab bench and shaken lightly a few times before being set down again. Then the screen goes black except for the caption “5 min later…” When the video reappears, the flask and its contents look largely the same as before. The bottom of a sand bath is brought into view, and the camera zooms out to reveal the read out screen of a digital thermometer, which reads: “026.” The flask is placed in the sand bath and the screen goes black except for the caption “Heat until solvent evaporates…” We end on a final briefly view of the flask in the sand bath again, with the thermometer screen climbing from “063” to “067.”

Weigh the product and measure its melting point.
