Rebecca Jarvis

I am a second-year graduate student in the Linguistics Department at UC Berkeley. My main interests are in syntax, semantics, and their interface. Currently, I'm especially interested in clause-level phenomena (e.g. clause type, clausal structure, and clausal embedding), and I also have an interest in topics like polarity and aspect. I conduct fieldwork with speakers of Atchan, a Kwa language spoken in Côte d'Ivoire, along with Katie Russell and Julianne Kapner. You can read about my research here.

Before coming to Berkeley, I received my BA in linguistics and mathematics from Harvard University and spent a year in Germany on a Fulbright Fellowship. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, climbing, and cross-stitching.
