I'm a third-year PhD student in Linguistics at UC Berkeley, interested in syntax, semantics, and language documentation. I work mostly with an Outlier Polynesian language called Nukuoro, spoken by a little over a thousand people in the Federated States of Micronesia (map on the left for geographic context). 

Before my PhD, I did my undergraduate degree in linguistics also at UC Berkeley (2018-2022) and got an MA in linguistics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (2022-2024). And before that, I grew up in the suburbs of Sacramento, CA, near Folsom Prison (of the Johnny Cash song). 

Outside of linguistics, I like volunteering at the Berkeley Food Network, reading, baking, crossword puzzles, and fly fishing.
