Bio: John Eastman, CFA, MBA, is currently the Director of Corporate Development & Strategy for Robinhood, where he works with his team and the entrepreneurial community in pursuit of improving financial inclusivity. Additionally, he is the Founder and Author of NotSoWrong, a site exploring powerful ideas and explanations from across disciplines in <5 mins. Error is our natural state. Prior to Robinhood, John spent 7+ years with Twitter, focusing on Strategic Finance and Corporate Development. Some selected transactions: Elon Musk Acquisition of Twitter ($44bn), OpenBack (acquisition), OpenNode (Series A investment), MoPub ($1.05bn sale to AppLovin Nasdaq: APP), Scroll (acquisition), Revue (acquisition), Interana (acquisition), Aiden.ai (acquisition), Smyte (acquisition), Lightwell (acquisition), Sharechat (lead investor $100m funding round).

During his time at Haas, John was a Student Venture Partner with the Haas Impact Fund (HIF), leading the sourcing, diligence, and portfolio stewardship of early-stage social enterprises. In April 2021, the Venture Partners pitched recommendations to the HIF's proprietary network of impact experts for a $50,000 investment from HIF, with the potential for additional funding from a select group of co-investors. John and his team represented UC Berkeley at the Global Finals of the Venture Capital Investment Competition. His LinkedIn profile lists the elective classes he took while at Haas.
