I graduated from Rice University in 2015 with a B.A. in Linguistics, under the cognitive science track. While at Rice, I took several classes at the graduate level, actively participated in multiple peer tutoring organizations, and completed a senior honors thesis considering construals of self and body within a Cognitive Semantics framework with Professor Michel Achard. I also did work on discourse and grammar with Professor Robert Englebretson, and functionalist syntax with Professor Matt Shibatani. Since then, I have been a graduate student at UC Berkeley. I've been advised by Professors Susan Lin, Keith Johnson, and Kevin B. McGowan.
I'm a Cuban American who grew up outside of Houston, Texas. I like dogs (especially mine) and other animals, horror and sci-fi, and art. I'm a sucker for a good game, whether that's tabletop/board games, a word game, a cozy switch game, or my absolute favorite: a late 90s LucasArts style point and click adventure game.
