Kindergarten students from the four kindergarten classes here at BPM meet for 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week. Students rotate through teacher-led centers designed to meet their own individual needs. Centers are focused on letters and letter sounds at the beginning of the year and transition to sight words, CVC words and writing in the middle of the year. These centers support a variety of learning styles through use of manipulatives, technology, movement and pictures.

Our youngest learners work with Chance for the first time!

Chance helps kindergarten friends with their reading and writing!

All activities are fun, interactive and tailored to meet the individual needs of students. From recreating letters using candy corn to playing games such as Closer to Z and BURST, students practice and refine their letter naming skills, phonemic awareness and sight word recognition utilizing a variety of materials and flexible grouping.
