Global and Course Navigation

Every Blackboard course has the same basic structure and consistently located controls. This allows you and your students to quickly navigate courses.

• When you access your course in Blackboard, the course Announcements will automatically open.
• The Course Menu is the series of buttons that appears on the left side of the page.
• Click on the Course Menu buttons to move between course sections.

• As you click on the buttons, notice that the content on the right changes, but the Course Menu stays the same on the left.
• Post your course information to content areas including Announcements, Syllabus, Course Documents, and Assignments.
• Send emails, view the course roster, and post your contact information in Tools. You can customize which other communication and collaboration tools are visible to your students.
• Use the Control Panel to access other course management controls.
• To return to Announcements from anywhere in the course, click on the course name at the top left of the page (referred to as the breadcrumb).
