Overview: Each course has a standard set of menu items (links). You can rename, add or remove, and show or hide these links.
Action: Create a new link and move it into the desired menu position.
1. In the upper right corner of the page, make sure Edit Mode is ON, or click to turn it ON:
2. To add a new link, click the + sign in the upper left corner above the menu:
3. Select Content Area (the first option on the list):
Content areas are pages that allow you to add content to them. For instance, Syllabus, Course Documents and Assignments are content areas. You will almost always be adding content areas. If you wish to add a direct link to a Blackboard tool such as the Discussion Board, select Tool Link and the appropriate tool.
4. Name the link, check the option to make it Available to Users so that students see the link, and submit:
5. The new link will appear at the bottom of the menu. To move it, simply hover over the the up-down arrows on left side of the link and drag the link into the desired position.
Alternate Actions: To rename, hide or show a link from student view, permit or deny guest access into content areas, or to delete a link, hover over the down arrow to the right of the link and select the desired action.
CAUTION: If you delete a content area link all of the content in that content area will be removed as well.
Also, please note that Syllabus is the only link which is set by default to be available to guests as soon as you make the course site available to students. All other links are visible only to students who are enrolled in your course site unless you choose to permit guests into that link.
