Through our school wide, comprehensive counseling program, each student at Pacific Crest Middle School, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, language, ability, or socioeconomic status, will have access to academic, career, and personal/social development. All students will participate in opportunities to explore personal identity, foster healthy relationships, and engage in meaningful conversations that facilitate partnerships among school, family and community.

Middle school students are characterized by rapid physical growth, curiosity about their world and an emerging self-identity. Middle school counselors enhance the learning process and promote academic achievement. School counseling programs are essential for students to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize their full academic potential.
FOR STUDENTS: Students may see the counselor for small group and individual counseling to assist with a variety of concerns and problems, including:

FOR PARENTS: Parents are free to call or email the counseling office at any time for a meeting if you have academic, social, or personal concerns about your child. The counseling office will help to arrange small group or individual counseling, as well as outside referrals for intervention.

The Middle School Counseling Program is designed to address the academic and developmental needs of all students through classroom guidance lessons. These lessons include the following topics:

College and Career Awareness
Multiculturalism and Diversity
Anxiety/Depression/Suicide
Grade Level Transitions

Over the course of the year, students will receive lessons from our counseling team, covering a variety topics, split into six week sessions. Within each session, each grade will focus on that topic from a different lens. 6th grade will focus on Community, 7th Grade will focus on Relationships, and 8th Grade will focus on Identity Development.
