Mrs. Saye's Class
My name is Mrs. Saye and I teach second grade reading, writing and social studies. I absolutely love my job and I have a passion for helping students grow in their reading abilities. A little about me: I'm a former West End student, a Bellville High School graduate, attended UMHB to receive my degree in education, and this is my 6th year in education. My husband and I got married this past December and love our West End community.

What is ClassDojo?
Conference Period
ClassDojo is an app that is free to download on your phone. This is where I will send class announcements, reminders, and quick personal messages to individual parents or as a class. Please note that messages sent on Dojo will be set to be seen on my end between 6a.m. and 4p.m. each school day. Please download this app from the app store so that you receive important class information!

Conference Period
My conference times are from 11:00-11:45 every afternoon either in person or over the phone. This is also where I am able to return Dojo messages and emails if I have not done so already. I am also available for some after school conferences by appointment.
What to expect in 2nd Grade
Second Grade is an exciting time in a student's academic journey. This year, our class will continue to support foundational reading skills and move towards increasing comprehension skills as they read to achieve understanding of a text. Second graders will also build their spelling and writing proficiency by creating original written responses.
