Each student attending Bellville Junior High School has the opportunity to check out a Chromebook and Charger to be used for school related activities for the year. The link below provides information on our 1:1 district programs and provides the paperwork that needs to be signed and returned to the library in order to have a device issued to each student.
If you need a school issued device please come see Mrs. Krumrey in the Library.
When students receive a device from the library, they will complete a check-out form confirming that the item is in good working condition, unless stated otherwise. Any problems with the device will be recorded in our system. It is the students' responsibility to take care of the equipment and ensure that it is kept in a safe environment.
If a repair is necessary, students should hand their Chromebook to the librarian and document the issues on a repair form. Our BISD Technology team will then work on fixing the Chromebook and returning it as soon as possible. The time required for repairs may vary depending on the number of repairs, parts needed, and other factors, potentially taking several days.
We have a limited number of loaners available, so we have made adjustments to our chrome book loaner policy at BJHS.
Teachers will now only check out a chromebook if they are testing or working on a major grade project. These loaned chromebooks will be used in the classroom by students who do not have their own chrome book. Furthermore, teachers will assign lunch detention to students who frequently require a loaner chrome book.
If a student's chrome book is currently being repaired, they may check out a loaner chrome book from the library at the start of the day and return it at the end of the day. However, once the repaired chrome book is returned and the student has been informed of any required payment, they will no longer be allowed to borrow a loaner chrome book.
