Welcome to Computer Science!

Let me give you a brief introduction since some of you may not know who I am. I am Mrs. Brown, and this will be my 8th year teaching at Beekman Charter School. I have previously taught IBCA and Coding in Junior High, and this is my fourth year teaching High School Computer Science. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling when I am able. I absolutely love teaching and feel blessed to be a part of the BCS family!

Computer Science I

Internet Business Associate (IBA) introduces students to Internet technology, digital communication, online business, security, and technology careers.

Network Technology teaches students how computer networks work, including network hardware, Internet connections, security, and troubleshooting.

Computer Science II

Network Technology teaches students how computer networks work, including network hardware, Internet connections, security, and troubleshooting.

Site Development introduces students to website design and development, including HTML, CSS, multimedia, and Web design principles.

Certification

All courses include preparation for a CIW certification exam. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications that demonstrate their technology knowledge and skills.
