Cybersecurity/CIW and IBCA
Welcome to Cybersecurity, CIW, and IBCA!
Let me give you a brief introduction since some of you may not know who I am. I am Mrs. Brown and this will be my 7th year teaching at Beekman Charter. I have previously taught IBCA and Coding in Junior High. This is my second year teaching High School and sixth year teaching Junior High. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and I have a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from University of Louisiana at Monroe. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling when I am able. I absolutely love teaching and feel blessed to be a part of the BCS family.
I will be teaching three technology classes this year. Cybersecurity, CIW, and IBCA.
The CIW Internet Business Associate course prepares students to work effectively in today's business environment. In this course, students will learn about the tasks involved in various Web Technology job roles, and they will learn the skills and technologies to perform them.
Taking a cybersecurity course is really useful for the future because almost every job and industry now relies on computers and the internet. By learning cybersecurity, students develop skills that help protect data, prevent cyberattacks, and solve problems online. These skills are in high demand, meaning they can lead to careers in tech, business, government, or healthcare.
IBCA is learning how to type properly. Learning to type properly is important because it helps you work faster and more accurately on computers. When you can type without looking at the keyboard, you save time on schoolwork, projects, and even future jobs. Proper typing also reduces strain on your hands and wrists, helping prevent discomfort or injury over time.
I believe it is going to be a great year! I look forward to seeing everyone! Let's Rock the 2025-2026 School Year!
