Dear Students,

I am very excited that you will be learning with me this year at FMS! This is my 17th year teaching fifth grade! Before this year, I was at TJES for 16 years. I will be teaching ELA (English / Language Arts) to our 5B team. We are going to have a great year together! I can't wait to learn all about you, but first let me tell you a little about me! I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Carroll County, Maryland. When I was in high school we moved to Baltimore County, Maryland. I went to Sacred Heart School in Glyndon, Maryland for kindergarten through 8th grade. Then, I went to Mercy High School in Baltimore City for high school. My high school was all girls! I attended Lynchburg College from 2000-2004 and received my degree in Human Development and Learning with an emphasis on Elementary Education. I met my husband, who is from Bedford County, right before graduation. Therefore, I was very excited that I was offered a job at TJES after graduation!

My husband's name is Alan. He is an insurance broker and loves soccer! He is on the board for Central Virginia United. We have cute, energetic little boys! Oliver is 6 and in 1st grade and Charlie is 5 and in PreK. They both love to learn! I spend most of my time with my family. The boys keep us very busy. They both play soccer, basketball, and tball. Alan coaches all their teams! If I have some free time, I love to curl up with a good book!

See you at Open House on August 9th! PLEASE BRING ALL YOUR SUPPLIES TO OPEN HOUSE. You will put all your supplies in the correct locations at open house, so we can have some time for FUN activities on the first day of school!
