You will create a slide deck that explores how inventions have changed daily life, improved technology, and inspired future innovation. You will research an invention from history and explain its effects on society.
Your slide deck must include the following sections:
Slide 1: Title Slide
• Name of the invention
• Your name
• Class and date
Slide 2: What Problem Did It Solve?
Explain:
• Why was there a need for this invention?
• What problem or challenge did people face before it existed?
Include a picture of early versions of the invention.
Slide 3: Who Invented It and When?
Include:
• Inventor’s name (or names)
• Year or time period invented
• Country or region
One interesting fact about the inventor or the invention’s first use
Slide 4: How Does It Work?
Describe the basic science, mechanism, or technology behind the invention.
Use a labeled sketch or image.
Slide 5: Improvements Over Time
Show at least three versions through history:
• Early version
• Mid-development improvement
• Modern version
Explain changes in materials, safety, speed, efficiency, or design.
Slide 6: Impact on Society
Explain at least three effects, such as:
• Improved communication or travel
• Better health or safety
• Jobs and industries created
• New problems or challenges it caused
Provide real-world examples.
Slide 7: Future Innovations
Use creativity:
• How might this invention look or work 50 years from now?
• What technology could make it better?
• How will life continue to change because of it?
Add your own drawing or digital concept design.
Slide 8: Interesting Facts
Share 3–5 surprising or lesser-known facts.
