Football Crew - Fall, 2018
BEC-TV has covered SIX THOUSAND sporting events over the years, but among the favorite of our techs is covering Football! Even if you're not a big fan of the sport itself, the energy in covering it is tough to match. As one of our most watched sports, we pull out all the stops for our Football productions.
As with all our Crews, we'll choose a blend of very experienced techs and new kids in whom we see potential. The Football Crew meets at Bloomington Stadium at 3:00 on game day (usually Friday) and stays 'till the post-game show is over and our toys are picked up (11pm-ish). Yup, this is a long haul, but it tends to fly by pretty quickly.
Some More Scoop:
-- Football Crew covers BOTH Jefferson and Kennedy's home games, so we've got a game every week
-- While most games are on Fridays, a couple regular season ones are not. This includes the first game (Thurs, Aug 30, before school starts) and MEA Week (Wednesday Oct 17... No school the next day)
-- All regular season games are at Bloomington Stadium, just west of 90th and Penn
-- We expect you to be at every game you can, but we understand if you have a doctor's appointment or something like that.
-- Play-off games are sometimes on the road and sometimes on school nights. We often only have a couple days notice for play-offs. We will understand if these do not work with your schedule.
-- Football Crew gets first crack at being on the crew when we produce the State High School Football SemiFinals at US Bank Stadium - One of the most memorable events BEC-TV covers (Fun Fact: BEC-TV has covered more football games at US Bank Stadium than the NFL has!)
-- We know that many of our techs are involved with performing groups at football - Marching Band, Dance Team, etc. We will consider placing these people on only the games when they are not performing. (So if you're you're in the Jefferson Marching Band, you'd be with us for only the Kennedy games.)
-- Since crew call is directly after school, we can sometimes work with you in getting from school to the stadium. Ride sharing among techs' families is always encouraged.
-- Because the crew is on site so long, FREE DINNER is provided to those on the Football Crew.
-- As with all shoots, crew is expected to stay until strike and post-production meeting are done.
The first game of the season is THIS THURSDAY (Aug 30) , so we'll be deploying quickly. Note that the Crew call for the First Game (only) is slated for 1:00. This will give us more time to get ready. If that causes conflicts we can adjust.
